Professional Sharpening Sequence
For the ultimate edge, follow these step-by-step instructions:
Select the template: Choose a template that is one degree below the template used for your graver angle. (Example: If you are sharpening a 120° graver, mount the 105° template for your parallel heel.)
Find the optimal setting: Adjust the parallel heel holder incrementally up or down until you find the optimal point.
Small carvings: The smaller the carving, the more you should use a 100° or even a 90° template to avoid damaging the edge of your burnished cuts.
The ideal grinding wheels: We highly recommend using the Yellow Diamond Shaper for carbide engraving gravers or our special, soon-to-be-released ceramic grinding wheel during this process.
